Leon I. Rosenberg, MD
Psychiatrist / Medical Director
Dr. Leon Rosenberg graduated from Harvard University with Honors in Biology in 1974 and received his Medical Degree from the State University of New York–Upstate Medical Center at Syracuse in 1978. He has been working in the field of psychiatry since then, beginning with an Internship in Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish-Hillside Hospital and followed by a residency in Adult Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 1979 to 1981. He then completed a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry at Hahnemann University Hospital in 1983. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry, and he completed a two year fellowship in Child Psychiatry.
Dr. Rosenberg has been in the private practice of adult, adolescent and child psychiatry since 1982. He has been the President and Medical Director of the Center for Emotional Fitness since 1983. His dedication and caring manner have earned him the respect of both patients and colleagues. His treatment philosophy centers on patients’ well-being by educating patients to promote their own Emotional Fitness by understanding their conditions. Dr. Rosenberg has been conducting clinical trials in psychiatric medicine since 1995. He has been the Principal Investigator of over 175 clinical trials.
Dr. Rosenberg has written the book, The Authoritative Guide to Psychiatric Diagnosis, a must read for patients, physicians, and any and all lay and professional individuals, whether they are concerned about themselves or their loved ones. His expertise is often called upon for doing independent medical evaluations, child study evaluations, forensic psychiatric evaluations and court testimony. Dr. Rosenberg has served on local and national advisory boards for many of pharmaceutical companies and is a sought after speaker.
He is also the editor of two books, Buzz the Bookworm and Decisions, Decisions that teach cognitive behavioral management to children and adolescents, respectively.
Dr. Rosenberg is a member of the American Medical Association, American Psychiatric Association and the New Jersey Psychiatric Society.
Dr. Rosenberg spends most of his professional time overseeing the care and treatment of all of the clinical trial subjects at the Center for Emotional Fitness and is directly involved with each and every clinical trial subject in the studies conducted at the Center for Emotional Fitness.
Dr. Rosenberg spends his personal time with his family, exercising and gardening. Dr. Rosenberg is an avid gardener.
Terri Marini, RNBC, CARN
Psychiatric Nurse Manager
Terri has been with CFEF since 2009. Terri is a Licensed Professional Nurse, having licenses from NJ and Pennsylvania. She holds certifications from the American Nurses’ Association in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing, and from the International Nurses’ Society of Addictions. Terri has held various positions in her field. She was one of the first RNs in the State of NJ to be certified as a NJ State Screener. She coordinated emergency psychiatric services in Burlington County for many years managing the county designated crisis program. Since 2002, her focus has included the field of addiction. Terri has worked in the both the public and private sectors of care having managed opioid treatment programs, providing consultation to private medical practices.
Jennifer Layton
Receptionist/Secretary
Jennifer has been happily at home with CFEF since 2014 as the receptionist/secretary. She will greet you with a smile and a zest of life attitude. Always upbeat, Jennifer, because of her nurturing nature and years of experience, is an asset to CFEF. She has hands on experience with special needs, brain trauma as well as terminally ill individuals. Jennifer’s warm personality will make you feel comfortable the moment you walk into the door.
